This site is proof that almost any hobby can get out of control. Not that we need proof...
I bought my first leather holster while on a trip to Colorado. Still have it, though I don't wear it as much as I thought I would, primarily because it doesn't offer sufficient trigger protection - there is a deep cut to expose the trigger before the weapon is drawn. A no-no for most competitions, so I consider it a no-go for open carry as well.
I came across a discounted kit holster in a craft store some time later, bought it, and put it together. It looked as good as the one I had bought. Much better than most of the handcrafted ones I saw at the gun shows. I built a couple more to fit guns I had in the safe. Nobody owns just one gun for long. Same for holsters. I discovered that I liked working in leather, so a new hobby was added to my retirement activities.
Some of my shooting buddies saw the holsters, and convinced me to build for them. I see new ideas, and try them out. I made a couple of holsters as gifts one Christmas, and these were well received. Long story short, I have too many holsters and too little space.
Important
Firearms shown are for illustration only and are not for sale. If a firearm must be shipped to me for custom fitting, it will go through a FFL transfer in both directions. I realize that this may raise the cost of a holster, but the cost of ignoring this could be much higher for both of us. This is not subject to negotiation.
